
MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mauro Luiz Iecker Vieira in New York, USA on 22 September, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Blocks of bilateral, multilateral, and regional matters were discussed during the negotiations. Serious attention was paid to resolving the conflict in Ukraine. The sides stated that their approaches and views on the ongoing processes coincide. They agreed it is necessary to find a peaceful resolution of the conflict as soon as possible.
The Brazilian minister of foreign affairs informed Sergei Aleinik in detail about peacemaking initiatives and efforts of Brazil's leadership. In turn, Sergei Aleinik shared his vision of the situation in Ukraine from Belarus.
An agreement was reached to continue contacts and take a closer look at a number of initiatives.
The sides also mentioned interaction within the framework of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).
