Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina discuss legal framework, economic cooperation

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Hungary and concurrently to Bosnia and Herzegovina Aleksandr Ponomarev met with Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Hungary.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations and agreed on a plan of bilateral visits for the near future. The parties welcomed the opening of the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina in December 2020, which is expected to give a positive impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas.

During a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Aleksandr Ponomarev visited a number of cities in the Republika Srpska. In the city of Zvornik he met with Mayor Zoran Stevanovic. In Bratunac the ambassador toured TRB company, one of the largest enterprises of the military and defense complex in the region.

Meetings were also held with Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Stasa Kosarac, executives of Belaz Premar Services d.o.o. Ugljevik, which is an authorized distributor of Belarusian rock haulers, and business interested in establishing trade and economic cooperation with Belarus.

The Belarusian ambassador also met with senior officials of the treaty-legal department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a view to intensifying the development of the legal framework of the relations between the two countries.
