Belarus ambassador presents credentials to Cyprus president

MINSK, 9 May (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Bulgaria, Greece and Cyprus Aleksandr Lukashevich presented his credentials to Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia, BelTA learned from the Twitter account of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The head of the diplomatic mission stressed that Belarus is interested in further development and strengthening of bilateral relations with Cyprus. “We see opportunities for building on cooperation in areas such as trade, science and technology, political, regional and cultural contacts and also intensifying interaction between ministries and agencies, and the ministries of foreign affairs in particular. The countries have a big potential for business cooperation and implementation of investment projects. Belarus is interested in the supplies of goods of heavy, light, food, woodworking and chemical industries,” he said.

The Cyprus president wished the Belarusian ambassador every success in his mission and assured that the country's government would provide all necessary support to the new head of the diplomatic mission.
