Belarus ambassador presents copies of credentials to Syrian vice premier

MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – Yuri Sluka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Syrian Arab Republic with a concurrent accreditation in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Lebanese Republic, has presented copies of credentials to Syrian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Walid al Muallem, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting the parties confirmed the friendly nature of Belarus-Syria relations and discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

In focus of the meeting was Belarus' participation in the post-conflict reconstruction of Syria, provision of humanitarian aid to Syria and a possibility of sending Syrian children affected by the war for recuperation and respite to Belarus.
