
MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev in Minsk on 21 December, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the prospects for the development of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States and cooperation plans for 2023.
Sergei Aleinik noted that Belarus attaches special importance to the development of cooperation with the CIS countries and the strengthening of the institutional foundations of the CIS, promoting sectoral interaction between the countries under the auspices of the CIS Executive Committee, primarily in economy.
For his part, Sergei Lebedev lauded the participation of Belarus in the work of the CIS in all areas, noting Belarus' initiative approach to the development of dialogue.
