MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Egyptian relations will enter a new, higher level, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said at a joint meeting between the Belarusian Parliament leadership and Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Minsk on 18 June, BelTA has learned.

There are no thorny issues or closed topics on the bilateral agenda, Vladimir Andreichenko said. That was highlighted during today's talks between Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko. A package of documents has been signed to further the cooperation. “I think our relations will enter a new, higher level,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

The Belarusian MPs, the speaker assured, are set to implement all agreements reached at the level of the presidents of the two countries. “In general we are interested in developing mutually beneficial equal cooperation, friendship and trust,” he said.

Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi noted that Belarus and Egypt have identified a large number of areas of interaction. He recalled that today the countries have signed a comprehensive program (road map) to develop the cooperation for 2019-2020. Egypt would like to develop relations with Belarus across a wide range of areas. “We have the political will to foster these relations,” the Egypt president said.

The Egypt president believes that great opportunities are opening up before Belarusian companies in the market of Egypt. The country has concluded a large number of free trade agreements with the states of the African continent and the Arab world. Accordingly, all goods produced in Egypt will have access to their markets. In addition, the country has upgraded infrastructure (roads, airports, seaports), created a comfortable business environment, and is developing industrial zones, including the Suez Canal zone where Belarusian business is welcome.
