NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) - Russia is ready to respond to the West's attempts to destroy the country, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov told reporters in Minsk on 4 May, BelTA has learned.
The diplomat stressed that it is impossible to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. He recalled that the Soviet people defeated fascist Germany which brought the entire Europe to its knees. "The entire Europe worked for Nazi Germany producing tanks, aircraft, artillery, ammunition, fuel. We defeated them. We, the Soviet people, are the heirs of the winners," he said.
Boris Gryzlov noted with regret that a few decades on, the West is trying to repeat the events of the 1940s. "We see that they encourage the revival of Nazism. Ukraine has turned into ‘Anti-Russia' with the help of the West. As we hear today, the West is trying to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. We know that this is impossible," the ambassador said.
"Today we are the keepers of the legacy of victorious warriors, and we cannot - this is absolutely certain - betray our ancestors. Therefore, the enemy will be destroyed. No doubt about this," the diplomat added. “Today we are ready to respond to the West's attempts to destroy Russia. Victory will be ours. We have no doubt about that."
