The Jewish religious community House of Israel opened a kolel in Vitebsk. The Torah study classes were launched in a local synagogue on 15 January.
The curriculum of the kolel (which is unofficially called “university” where adults study traditional laws and commandments) will span two semesters. Some 30 men and women have already applied to the kolel. The students will attend classes weekly to study the Torah, Jewish traditions and philosophy.
