On 5 December the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater presented the premiere of the play The Titanium Witch in Vitebsk. The production is based on the play of the same name by contemporary Belarusian writer Vlada Olkhovskaya. The plot follows seasoned conman Viktor, who receives a lenient sentence: instead of prison, he must participate in a special social project. His task is to care for a young woman named Marta, who is confined to a wheelchair. Viktor hoped she wouldn’t cause him much trouble and that this month would feel like “almost a vacation”. Instead of a quiet young woman, however, he is met by a witch capable of turning his life into a living nightmare.
