Reenactment of the World War Two defense of Brest Fortress

A reenactment of the Brest Fortress defense took place on 22 June 2018 exactly 77 years after the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 began. The show featured over 500 history fans, pyrotechnics, an artillery unit, border guards on horseback, motorcycles, an armored truck, a car, and a truck. Some 1,500 reenactors from 11 countries – Belarus, Russia, Austria, Ukraine, Israel, Czechia, Latvia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Japan, and China – came to Brest to participate in the military history reenactment convention.

The reenactment was organized by the Brest Oblast administration, the Brest city administration, the Belarusian national youth union BRSM, the Brest Oblast Youth Art Center, the military history club Garnizon, and representatives of the local military registration and enlistment offices.
