New war memorial in Svetlogorsk District

The construction of the memorial complex at the site of the village of Ola, that was burnt during the Great Patriotic War, in Svetlogorsk District has finished.

The memorial is divided into three major blocks: an entry group, a walking route and a memorial zone. The walking route goes through what was once a village street. The places of former houses have symbolic carcasses and obelisks with people's silhouettes. The memorial square features a mass grave, a bell tower, and a stele with an alarm bell.

Apple trees of the special variety Ola were planted in the memorial zone. This variety is characterized by a reddish trunk, red fruit and reddish blossom.
