A meeting to discuss the prospects of the European bison population in Belarus took place in Grodno District on 20 February. Attending the meeting were representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus, scientists, ecologists, foresters and other stakeholders.
The agricultural center Ozery, along with Belovezhskaya Pushcha and the Osipovichi Forestry, is one of the biggest habitats for the European bison in the country. It is home to nearly 400 bison. The total population of bison in the country exceeds 2,000 head.
