NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
The Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve is a unique natural complex located on the border of Vitebsk Oblast and Minsk Oblast. It is home to many species of animals, birds listed in the Red Book of Endangered Species. Due to its uniqueness and to the exceptional diversity of forests, meadows and swamps, rivers and lakes, the reserve is of great importance both for Belarus and for Europe. According to the classification of the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature, IUCN), it corresponds to category 1a - a strict nature reserve.
