Belarusian Jews celebrate Purim

Purim is one of the main Jewish holidays. This year its celebrations started at sunset on 9 March and will wrap up at sunset on 10 March. The two main traditions are giving charity to the poor and sending food parcels to friends and family members. After listening to the Book of Esther in the evening, people don their holiday clothing and light candles.
