Young writers are in need of our support and encouragement, Chairman of the Belarusian Writers' Union Nikolai Cherginets said on 23 December during the expanded meeting of the board of the union held to mark the tenth anniversary of the organization, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian Writers' Union established a scholarship for young writers and poets. Works by talented young people are published in small quantities. “You can imagine the pride and gratitude that a young person feels holding a 15-page book with his/her poems. We should support them,” Nikolai Cherginets stressed.
We should look for young and talented people. Writing is not something that can be taught, but we should support young people and promote their works, the Chairman of the Belarusian Writers' Union believes. It is important to give them not only advice but also confidence that they can achieve success in this trade.
As for the general goals of the union, Nikolai Cherginets said that its activity should be aimed at serving people.
