NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
The victory over fascism is a moral reference point for the future, said Associate Professor Nikolai Shchekin, Candidate of Philosophy, Head of the Political and Economic Sociology Center at the Sociology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
“The phenomenon of the Great Patriotic War has been of high social and political relevance and historical value for decades. The victory of the Soviet people over fascism is not far in the past. It serves as a moral reference point for the future. The 9 May holiday celebrates the victory over hateful misanthropic ideology, the triumph of good over evil. And this victory will live on for centuries to come,” Nikolai Shchekin noted.
The expert believes that future generations of Belarusians, in the same way as the present one, will be proud of their ancestors who made an enormous contribution to the victory over fascism and gave their lives to ensure that their children and grandchildren live in a free and independent country. “From this standpoint, we can view the victory in the Great Patriotic War as the foundation for the formation of national consciousness,” Nikolai Shchekin remarked.
