The Victory Day parade is a celebration of our history and traditions and a link between generations, First Secretary of the BRSM Central Committee, member of the Council of the Republic of Belarus' National Assembly Dmitry Voronyuk told BelTA.

“The Belarusian youth is among the most ardent supporters of the idea of continuity. We are grandchildren of the victors, descendants of the liberators, and it is our responsibility to preserve the historical memory of the war and its heroes. Those who reject their history have no future. The parade is a living testament to the courage and heroism of our nation. It is also a message that Belarus remembers everyone, honors their memory, and stays true to its traditions,” Dmitry Voronyuk said. “Those who want to attend the parade should come, those who want to stay at home can stay. No one will be pressured into anything. All the necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety of those who will come to the parade on Victory Day,” he added.

The youth will not forget about a single veteran ahead of the Victory Day, Dmitry Voronyuk stressed. “Of course, our veterans will be able to watch the parade on TV, we will take care of them, we will not forget them and will congratulate everyone,” he noted. “A lot of BRSM projects are running online. Ahead of 9 May, we will launch the large-scale On Air marathon “Belarus Remembers. Flowers of Great Victory”. During live broadcasts of the marathon, we will speak about the generation of the victors, thank veterans who gave us 75 peaceful years, talk with representatives of sport and art. They will share stories of their families and tell us about their ways to honor the memory of heroes of the Great Patriotic War,” he said.
