There is nothing more terrifying that a civil war, member of the House of Representatives of Belarus National Assembly Tengiz Dumbadze said as he took part in the rally for peace, security, and safety in Belarus on 16 August, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus is my Motherland and I am proud of my great ancestors. I take pride in my 30-year career in journalism, during which I visited 120 countries, hailing our beautiful and peaceful Motherland. Very kind people live here, and I have always called them as an example of how difficult it is to preserve a pocket of peace in this raging world. Today, unfortunately, a disaster is at our doorstep,” Tengiz Dumbadze said. “I have been praying for the past five days. My friends from all over the world call me, asking what is happening here and why people do not appreciate what they have. Do they think it was easy to build an independent country, preserve all jobs, and eliminate crime? There is some corruption, but it insignificant in comparison with other countries. Believe me, there is nothing worse than a civil war, and I saw twelve wars,” he noted.
Tengiz Dumbadze called on all Belarusians to be reasonable. “The youth want a show. People, I urge you and your parents to stop! We are all running a risk that our small, but very beautiful, proud, and freedom-loving country Belarus might disappear from the political map altogether. The society has split, a lot of our friends are on the other side of the conflict. We respect their point of view and I want them to respect our choice and our stance,” he added.
