The role of electronic media is to counter destructive influence on the public opinion, BelTA learned from Belarusian Information Minister Lilia Ananich on 4 February.
Electronic media are not only a tool of communication today. They are also the most important tool to influence the public opinion. Belarus' media space is integrated into the global information flows, and comes under constant external pressure.
"The most important task for electronic media is to counter destructive influence on the public opinion," said Lilia Ananich said.
She also opined that the media should strengthen the information support for the state programs and tasks, make reasoned arguments to counter the attempts to speculate on economic difficulties, and draw the audience's attention to Belarus' achievements in various areas. "We have something to show. This should make way to the TV screens and newspaper pages,” Lilia Ananich said.
