Terrorism, unstable situation in many countries and conflicts may lead to the rise of a new Hitler in the world, Editor-in-Chief of the SB. Belarus Segodnya newspaper Pavel Yakubovich said during the Club of editors program aired on the Belarus 1 TV channel on 17 January, BelTA has learned.
"The events in Germany and Sweden, Al-Qaeda and IS - all this can revive a Hitler not only in the form of his books. At any time and in any capital city there may appear a "small man" who will suddenly grow into "a big Hitler". There were precedents, but history does not teach people anything yet,” Pavel Yakubovich believes.
The participants of the Club of Editors meeting discussed the recent reprint of Hitler's book Mein Kampf in Germany. The book became a bestseller, even before hitting the shelves: all 4,000 copies were sold out online even before the start of the sales.
Chairman of the Belarusian National TV and Radio Company Gennady Davydko noted that the reprinted Mein Kampf contains expert commentaries that supposedly should help readers understand the unacceptability and fatality of the Fascism ideas. “In reality, however, under the guise of benevolent intentions the Hitler's teachings go to the masses,” he said.
Pavel Yakubovich supported his colleague's opinion and noted that few readers would pay attention to comments. “Unfortunately, today the fascism ideology can penetrate the society as easily as in 1934. Those who republished the book did wrong,” he added.
