NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
Professionalism and responsibility are the key components in news reporting, BelTA learned from Belarusian Information Minister Lilia Ananich on 3 May.
The information minister was convinced that professionalism and responsibility are essential components of reporter's job.
Belarusian laws describe news reporting as a very responsible job. “Giving the right to acquire and distribute information to reporters, the law also stipulates responsibility for bringing news to readers, listeners, and viewers,” reminded the information minister. She encouraged reporters to present news as it is, without bias. Lilia Ananich also pointed out the need to observe principles and rules of professional ethics.
Lilia Ananich underlined that there is a large number of mass media in Belarus today. The development of information technologies allows everyone to get the information he or she is interested in. “The constitutional right of citizens to acquiring full and authentic information is fully observed,” said the information minister.
