There is no call for converting the public association Belaya Rus into a political party yet, BelTA learned from Head of the Belarus President Administration Natalya Kochanova after the third congress of the public association Belaya Rus on 19 January.
Natalya Kochanova noted that Belaya Rus or some other public organization will become a political party when people, members of this organization, want it. “When there is a call for it, when there is a need for a political party, then the party may be created,” added the head of the Belarus President Administration. “We have not seen or heard anything like that yet. It means it is not the time yet,” she said.
Evaluating results achieved by the public association in the last five years, Natalya Kochanova underlined that the number of the organization members had increased and the organization had been able to successfully reach its goals. As an example she mentioned the association's community liaison offices and described them as a significant project.
Speaking about prospects of the public association, the official remarked that many of them were sketched out by the organization's members during the congress. Working with young Belarusians is one of them. Belaya Rus intends to more tightly work with youth organizations in this regard. Natalya Kochanova pointed out that Belaya Rus represents a good human resources reserve for the power vertical.
The head of the Belarus President Administration also mentioned matters concerning work in the international scene. She believes that the public association should reach the international scene. “The public association has earned a reputation inside the country. The international community has recognized the organization today, too,” said Natalya Kochanova.
According to Natalya Kochanova, it is important that Belaya Rus guarantees support for the state social policy. It was mentioned more than once during the congress. “We are talking about care for every person, every citizen of our country and its future,” concluded Natalya Kochanova.
