Stronger Belarus-China relations contribute to stronger relations between Russia and China, Russian political scientist Anton Bredikhin said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.

Anton Bredikhin commented on the recent visit of Aleksandr Lukashenko to Beijing and the meeting of the Belarusian leader with Xi Jinping. “It demonstrated not only an all-weather partnership between Belarus and China, but also China's recognition of Aleksandr Grigoryevich as the president of Belarus. And this bids defiance to the entire Western world, to those countries that think otherwise. The Chinese leadership gave a lot of prominence to the visit of the Belarusian leader and made all countries of the world to tune in. In addition, very important agreements were reached during the meeting and these documents bring the relations between the countries to a new level. These agreements will be implemented soon,” said Anton Bredikhin.

According to the political scientist, every visit of the Belarusian leader to China is a good sign for China and Belarus. “Each such visit is followed by big projects. We heard statements from both Lukashenko and Xi Jinping, for example, about the development of the Belt and Road Initiative. In addition, Belarus will intensify relations with China in all areas: politics, economy, culture. People in Russia see that stronger Belarus-China relations help strengthen relations between Russia and China. Therefore, the visit of the Belarusian leader is viewed as another step to strengthen cooperation between Russia and China,” the political scientist concluded.
