An IT company will be of use to the Armed Forces, Deputy Director of the Hi-Tech Park administration Alexander Martinkevich told reporters, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Martinkevich stressed that the knowledge and expertise of young people will be in demand in the Armed Forces and that the IT company will be a success. He did not rule out cooperation between the HTP and the army. Some personnel of IT companies are recruited as reservists. Their knowledge could also be used for the needs of the Armed Forces. “I think this will be the next step in our cooperation,” said Alexander Martinkevich. In addition, he noted, the law enforcement agencies are also showing interest in the project to set up an IT company.
As BelTA reported earlier, plans are in place to recruit 60 people for the information technology company of the Belarusian army. Two squads or 40 people will be recruited in autumn. Another squad will be recruited in spring to bring the company's strength to 60 people. The IT company is supposed to develop software, special and applied programs together with the Military Academy and other research and education institutions. The top-priority projects the Military Academy deals with include warfare modelling, navigation support, and the development of automated systems for control and radiolocation. The new army unit will focus on math support for such projects and on software development. State-of-the-art hardware and software will be provided for this work.
