Information security has become a priority area of Belarus' national security system, Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin said as he attended an international conference on social and psychological aspects of national security on 3 December, BelTA has learned.
“Technological evolution has opened up previously inaccessible opportunities for exerting negative influence over individuals, the society and the state, and has become a source of new threats to the modern world. In Belarus, information security is becoming a priority area of the national security system,” Alexander Shumilin noted.
He stressed that national security is a major responsibility of the Belarusian state. “It is not by chance that national security has been indentified as one of the nine priority areas of Belarus' scientific and technical development for 2016-2020,” Alexander Shumilin added.
