In the implementation of standards and the requirements of the Worldskills movement there is a powerful potential for sustainable economic development, Belarus' Education Minister Igor Karpenko told the media on 4 October, BelTA has learned.

The minister met with national experts of the WorldSkills Belarus team in the Auto-Mechanical College named after academician M.S.Vysotsky. Igor Karpenko said that they not only possess competences in various professions, but also actively introduce them into the educational process in the system of vocational education and training. “Thus, we improve the education system taking into account global trends and national experience. In this there is a powerful potential for increasing labor productivity, promoting sustainable economic development. We not only participate in the WordlSkills movement, but also analyze everything that is taking place there, standards and requirements that are applied,” he stressed.

The set of measures discussed at the National Pedagogical Council in 2017 is gradually implemented. Some 47 resource centers have been set up in the country. They are fitted with modern equipment.
