The aid and support the companies residing in the Hi-Tech Park provide to education institutions will be greatly increased soon, BelTA learned from Director of the Hi-Tech Park Administration Vsevolod Yanchevsky after Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko hosted a government conference to discuss the development of the digital sphere on 14 October.

Vsevolod Yanchevsky said: “A very interesting, profound, and substantial discussion took place during today's government conference hosted by the head of state. A lot of ideas and initiatives were expressed. The head of state backed them up but stressed one important thing: the country has indeed created very good conditions for the IT industry, the Hi-Tech Park, however, the IT community should also help other branches of the economy and education. Hi-Tech Park residents do a lot for education but this aid, assistance, and involvement will be increased by many times soon.”

It has been decided to set up an IT university, which will be financed primarily at the expense of Hi-Tech Park resident companies. This educational institution will also enjoy other kinds of support, including in the form of equipment and professional consultations.

The possibility of arranging IT-focused classes in secondary schools was one of the initiatives put forward during the government conference. “Some models may be used primarily to make the learning process interesting for kids,” Vsevolod Yanchevsky noted. “If we all work together to make the learning process interesting in secondary schools and in universities, we will get excellent results in education, IT, and the country as a whole. An experiment is needed in order to understand how it should be done. Today we've talked about starting such interesting innovative things, experiments in education with participation of the state and with support of the state and the Hi-Tech Park.”
