Europe is ruled by yes-people, PhD in Law, expert in intelligence services Sergei Karnaukhov said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
Germany has made a decision to supply tanks to Ukraine. Sergei Karnaukhov considers this a big problem. "The problem is probably about general underestimation of what is happening," he said. “All this time we were trying to appease Germany, Poland. In fact, we were trying to save Europe from the looming catastrophe. There are probably several reasons why they do not understand what is happening. But I think this all comes down to a very simple thing: it is about yes-sayers in power. I met with one of well-known Russian senators, who recently had a very interesting conversation with the CIA director and I asked: what is happening? The catastrophe is on the horizon and Europe is not seeing it? This will be an apocalypse for them literally. He says there's a big difference between an agent and a staff employee of an intelligence agency. With regard to European leaders, we try to figure out who they are? In fact they are staff employees. An agent still has some room for manoeuvre meanwhile staff employees just do what they are told."
They do not care that many of their actions can have a boomerang effect. "When they are told to impose sanctions on Belarus, they just say ‘Yessir'. They do not care what will happen to their country, how it will affect economic and political ties. They do what they are told," the expert emphasized. “We are faced with a situation when European leaders, the entire European political elite have turned into staff employees of various special services over the past 30 years.”
