Early voting provides voters the possibility to participate in elections at the most convenient time, and is one of the most important elements in the democratic electoral process, PhD in Philosophy Assistant Professor Nikolai Shchekin said in an interview with BelTA.

Early voting takes into account the interests of all citizens of the country, he said. "Early voting is very up-to-date, convenient and democratic. Thanks to it, citizens may freely exercise the constitutional right to participate in elections, without sacrificing any important personal plans and interests. The main thing is that the state thus creates the most comfortable conditions for every voter. To vote early or on the Election Day on 11 October is the personal choice of everyone,” Nikolai Shchekin said.

In his words, early voting is a common practice worldwide. It is used in Europe and the United States. “Belarus is on trend in the issue. I have certain experience in observing election campaigns in Belarus and abroad. Early voting is an efficient system of relations between the state and the society, which proves the maturity of the civil society,” Nikolai Shchekin said.

In his words, voting is an important and responsible time in the life of any country and its people. “I would call it an objective mirror for the society. Every citizen who goes to the polls should know that their votes are important. It is a contribution to the future of our Motherland,” the political analyst said.
