Memory about the Great Patriotic War unites nations around the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), BelTA learned from Sergei Sidorsky, Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agribusiness of the Eurasian Economic Commission, on 4 May.
Sergei Sidorsky remarked that all the Eurasian Economic Union member states celebrate Victory Day one way or another. All the soldiers from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Russia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan, who fought to secure this great victory, are honored in these countries, he added.
According to the official, people in the Eurasian Economic Union countries support the desire to be part of a single union. “It is ordinary people, who say that we are united around our economic union by the memory of the Great Patriotic War that each country has,” said Sergei Sidorsky.
A wreath on behalf of the embassy of Belarus in Russia was laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow on 4 May. Sergei Sidorsky attended the ceremony along with other dignitaries.
