Cooperation between Belarus and the World Bank needs a new agenda. Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich made the statement as he met with a World Bank delegation on 28 March, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Myasnikovich said: “As a matter of principle, we are satisfied with work with the World Bank group. Certainly, we would love to accomplish more but I think that our meeting and your visit as a whole will contribute to our launching more systemic joint projects.”

“It seems to me Belarus' cooperation with the World Bank needs some new agenda, I could say an absolutely new direction,” noted the head of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament. In particular, he suggested thinking about projects relating to electric transport. According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, increasing attention is paid to technologies and equipment designed to take care of human health. “This is why matters concerning biopharmaceuticals, stem cells, human organ transplantation centers, the creation of all this bioinfrastructure could be very interesting for the World Bank and for our country, even more so within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.
