It is important that Belarusian providers of legal services develop cooperation with foreign colleagues and take precautionary measures to anticipate challenges, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Valery Mitskevich said when speaking at Minsk Legal Forum on 23 October, BelTA has learned.
“The main topic of today's forum is new challenges in the market of legal services. The modern world is developing at such a rapid pace that sometimes we fail to properly address the challenges we are faced with. In this context, it is important to develop cooperation, jointly discuss the issues that arise, and take measures to prevent crises,” Valery Mitskevich noted.
He believes that lawyers should actively cooperate. This is particularly relevant for colleagues from different countries. “We always have something to share with each other. Speeches, publications, participation in court proceedings, no doubt, help lawyers hone their professional knowledge and skills. However, nothing can replace face-to-face communication and direct exchange of opinions,” he pointed out.
Valery Mitskevich added that he is eager to learn about the achievements of foreign colleagues and expressed confidence that Belarusian legal experts will be happy to share their best practices. “I am hopeful that such events will become a tradition. Hopefully, the forum will be a success and lay a solid foundation for future cooperation,” he stressed.
