Exporters should actively use all available tools to promote their products to foreign markets, Valery Sadokho, Director of the National Center for Marketing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the media, BelTA has learned.
Experts from the National Center of Marketing organized a training workshop on integrated promotion of domestic goods and services to foreign markets for local companies in Grodno on 4 June.
“Not always exporters make full use of available resources. This is particularly true about information support of exports, harnessing the potential of exhibitions as an effective tool for product promotion,” Valery Sadokho said. He stressed that one of the topics of the training workshop is to highlight foreign exhibitions that could be most useful in promoting Belarusian goods.
“Marketing research is an important factor for advancing goods. To enter a certain market, one needs to know the competitive environment and popular goods on it. This instrument should also be used more actively,” Valery Sadokho said. Not all the exporters know the opportunities the Belarusian online platforms provide for advancing and displaying goods for potential customers. The number of visits to such portals from different countries has been steadily increasing.
The focus was also made on the changes to the public procurement laws. Valery Sadokho stressed that companies need to get ready for the operation under new conditions in time in order not to miss out on profitable opportunities.
The National Center for Marketing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs runs a series of training workshops in all the oblast centers of the country. The events are held to provide comprehensive information support to the export activity of regional Belarusian producers. Such workshops have already been held in Brest Oblast, Vitebsk Oblast, Gomel Oblast and Mogilev Oblast.
