As Belarus prepared for the 2nd European Games it built excellent infrastructure for sports competitions, Sberbank President, Chairman of the Board German Gref told the media, BelTA has learned.
These days Minsk is hosting the 13th international summer Sberbankiada which features 12 sports. According to German Gref, Minsk did not have infrastructure for holding such large-scale competitions before. “But as the city prepared for the European Games it built world-class infrastructure. Now the city can host almost any tournament,” he said.
The theme of Sberbankiada was raised during the meeting of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko with German Gref. The head of state stressed that he always supports such mass sports events. Moreover, Belarus benefits from hosting Sberbankiada in part of increased tourist flow.
“Everything works like a clock. Excellent infrastructure. More than 3,000 people have come and feel very comfortable here,” the head of Sberbank said.
