Belarus has a considerable potential for the development of new branches in the high-tech sector of Belarusian economy, said Dmitry Krupsky, the head of the innovative activity department at the Economy Ministry.

He also named the main growth areas for the new branches. “Belarus has the Hi-Tech Park, which comprises more than 150 resident companies and over 25,000 IT specialists. Pharmacy, nano- and bio industries are also developed quite well and involve about 50 organizations with 10,000 to 12,000 employees,” the expert said.

Dmitry Krupsky recalled that the first power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is set to be commissioned in 2019. It will provide the necessary amount of electricity for the automation and robotization of Belarusian industries. The primary infrastructure of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone will also be built soon and ready to house a great number of production facilities.
