Belarus and China should use reserves in full measure to advance cooperation. Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Nikolai Snopkov made the statement during the session of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental committee on cooperation on 18 August, BelTA has learned.

Nikolai Snopkov said: “China is a most important trade and economic partner for Belarus. We have reserves for bolstering economic ties and we should fully utilize them.”

In his words, conditions should be enabled, institutions and the environment for business mergers should be created. It is necessary to set up joint ventures both in China and Belarus. The governments of the two countries should help facilitate the matters by enabling the necessary conditions, meeting present-day challenges, and shaping a favorable climate. Then it is necessary to advance interregional cooperation, which should become a powerful driving force behind the bilateral trade and investments.

The Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration said that complementing bilateral relations with concrete projects, establishing effective platforms for getting the business circles involved, jointly discussing and working out concrete decisions represent the main tasks of interregional cooperation.

In his words, a lot has been done in the two years since the first session of the intergovernmental committee that took place in September 2014. “We have fully implemented the format of strategic partnership between our countries and are vigorously advancing. The level of Belarus-China partnering relations should not stop. It underscores their importance in the system of interstate relations in the modern world. We believe that efforts to raise the status of Belarusian-Chinese bilateral relations will fully meet the current reality and will reflect the individual approach on the basis of trust and friendship,” underlined Nikolai Snopkov.
