NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
All wars of the past 15 years can be called hybrid wars, Belarus' Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov said in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Today, we must understand that a hybrid war or a hybrid approach to military actions is the essence of the wars and conflicts that we see happening now. All the wars of the past 10-15 years were in effect hybrid wars,” the Minister said.
The Defense Minister noted that the basics of a hybrid war were laid down back in the 1990s. Such types of wars make use of the forces and resources which can be called classical such as a regular army and also terrorist methods, sabotage, guerrilla warfare, precision weapons. “This mix is called a hybrid war,” he said. Andrei Ravkov noted that it was precisely because of the hybrid wars that Belarus created special ops forces and enhanced the territorial defense system.
