Eurasian Economic Union to set up council for agriculture

MOSCOW, 13 December (BelTA) – A council for agricultural industry will be set up in the Eurasian Economic Union. The draft decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was approved at the session of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission on 13 December, BelTA has learned.

When presenting the document, Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agribusiness of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Sergei Sidorsky stated that the decision on the establishment of this council was supported by the agriculture ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union. According to him, the council will be composed of agriculture ministers and representatives of technical regulatory bodies that ensure sanitary and hygiene protection in the EAEU member states.

Sergei Sidorsky noted that the council will make strategic decisions in the field of agriculture, will take measures to promote products to the markets of third countries.
