As of 1 January 2018, some 1,444 organizations provided tourism services in Belarus. They sold tours to over 2 million travelers in 2017.
There were 727,500 outbound visits in 2017. Belarusians visited 117 countries. The most popular destinations were Turkey, Egypt, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, Poland, Spain, Greece, Montenegro, Czechia, Lithuania and Italy.
Belarusian vacationers stayed abroad for 8 days on average.
Belarus welcomed 282,700 visitors from 105 countries in 2017. Belarus' most valuable tourism source markets: Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Ukraine, China, Germany, Estonia, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Israel. Their average period of stay in Belarus was 4 days.
In January-July 2018, the export of tourism services amounted to $126.1 million, up by 17.5% compared to the same period of 2017.
In 2017 there were 1,821 rural tourism estates in Belarus. The number of tourists opting for this type of holidaymaking made up 351,100, with Belarusians accounting for 90% of them.
