As of 1 March 2018, Belarus had:
99,200 micro-enterprises (up to 15 employees)
10,900 small enterprises (16-100 employees)
2,200 middle-sized enterprises (101-250 employees)
236,100 individual entrepreneurs
Approximately every 41st citizen in the country is registered as an individual entrepreneur.
Share in the total tax revenue to the budget:
micro-enterprises – 10.5%
small enterprises – 16.5%
middle-sized enterprises – 8.1%
individual entrepreneurs – 3.1%.
A business promotion council has been set up in Belarus. The plans are in place to set up such councils in every region of the country. Ordinance No.7 on the promotion of entrepreneurship was signed on 23 November 2017 to improve business environment in the country.
