Renewable energy sources (RES) account for 5.7% of the total fuel and energy consumption in Belarus in 2016. The figure is projected to reach 6% by 2018.

Today, the RES plants in Belarus are able to generate up to 1.2 billion kWh per year using:
wood fuel and other biomass fuels - 404.6 million kWh
biogas energy - 302.6 million kWh
energy of the flowing water - 209.2 million kWh
wind energy - 172.9 million kWh
solar energy - 94.4 million kWh
