Average age of first marriage was 26 years for women, and 28.1 years for men.
92.8% of marriages were registered between Belarusians.
The average age of first-time mothers was 29.4 years.
A total of 94,042 babies were born in 2018. Over 60% of births were second, third and subsequent children in the family.
Proportion by birth order:
39.2% - first child, 39.4% - second child, 21.4% - third and subsequent children.
The fertility rate of women aged 40 to 44 years continued to rise to 2,247 children in 2018, which is 1.8 times up from 2010. 54% of these births were third and subsequent children.
