The 26th Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will be held in Minsk on 1-8 November under the slogan “To Joy”
The Listapad competition program consists of four sections:
- feature films (main competition and competition of debut films youth on the march);
- documentary films (main competition and national film schools competition);
- children and youth film competition Listapadzik
- national competition (includes feature films, documentaries and animated films).
The festival will screen 154 movies from 50 countries. The feature film competition will show 12 films, Youth on the March – 12, the main documentary film competition – 13, the national film schools competition – 22, Listapadzik - 8, and the national competition – 11 films.
Seven international jury panels will work at the Minsk International Film Festival Listapad. The most valuable awards are Listapad Gold for the best film, the awards for the best documentary, Listapadzik gold for best children and youth film and the award of FIPRESCI International Jury of Film Press.
Opening film – The Father (Bulgaria, Greece), directed by Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov
Closing film (out of competition) - The Invisible Life of Euridice Gusmao (Brazil, Germany), directed by Karim Ainouz.
Films from Sudan and Senegal will make their debut at the Minsk festival.
Venues: Tsentralny, Pioner, and Moskva cinema houses (opening and closing ceremonies), Belarus Cinema, Falcon Club Boutique Cinema, Silver Screen in Galileo Trading Mall and the Museum of Belarusian Cinema History.
The Minsk International Film Festival Listapad is the largest and most significant cinematic event in Belarus. The first film forum was held in Minsk in 1994.
