Belarus has been ranked the highest on the ICT Development Index (IDI) among the post-Soviet countries in the 2016 edition of Measuring the Information Society Report issued by the International Telecommunication Union*. Belarus has been given 7.26 in IDI value and placed in the 31st position out of 175 economies worldwide.

1. South Korea – 8.84 in IDI value,

3. Denmark – 8.74,

10. Japan – 8.37,

11. Luxembourg – 8.36,

30. Israel – 7.40,

31. Belarus – 7.26,

39. Lithuania – 7.10,

40. Latvia – 7.08,

43. Russia – 6.95,

50. Poland – 6.65,

52. Kazakhstan – 6.57,

71. Armenia – 5.60,

76. Ukraine – 5.33.

The ICT Development Index combines 11 indicators and is designed to measure the level of access to ICTs, the use of ICTs in the society, and ICT capability and skills.
