The country's mechanical engineering industry is represented by over 270 large and medium enterprises, including BelAZ, MAZ, MTZ, Gomselmash, Atlant, Horizont, Gefest, and other ones. The industry employs over 178,000 people.
January-August 2016 saw Br6.5 billion* worth of mechanical engineering products made — 12.6% of the total industrial output.

computers, electronic and optical equipment — 101.1,
electric equipment — 108.9,
transport means and equipment — 101.1%.
In comparison with the same period of 2015 in January-July 2016 Belarus increased export of**:
agricultural machines by 1.8 times
vehicles designed to transport 10 and more people — 1.7 times,
truck tractors — 1.5 times,
trucks — 1.3 times,
refrigerators and freezers — 1.2 times.
