Russia is Belarus' main trade partner. In 2018, Belarus-Russia merchandise trade soared almost 5.5 times since 1996.
In 2018, Russia accounted for 38.3% in Belarus' total merchandise export, or $13 billion. Russia accounted for 58.8% in Belarus' total merchandise import, or $22.6 billion.
In January-October 2019 the total merchandise trade made up $28.8 billion, including $11.1 billion in exports and $17.7 billion in imports.
