Belarus-Russia: Trade and economic cooperation

Russia remains Belarus' leading trade partner. In 2018, Belarus' merchandise trade with Russia increased 5.4 times in comparison with 1996.

In 2018, Belarus-Russia merchandise trade totaled $35.5 billion.

Russia accounted for 38.4% in Belarus' total merchandise export or $12.9 billion. Russia accounted for 58.9% in Belarus' total merchandise import or $22.6 billion.

Belarus exported:

milk and dairy products -- $1,568.1 million;

trucks - $886 million;

meat and meat by-products -- $763.9 million;

tractors and truck tractors -- $292 million; truck and tractor parts -- $259.4 million.

Belarus imported:

crude oil, including gas condensate -- $6,822.7 million;

natural gas -- $2,690.8 million;

ferrous metals and goods made thereof -- $2,084.4 million;

oil products -- $1,085.4 million;

cars -- $916.8 million.
