Belarus is one of the key trading partners of Russia in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Russia remains Belarus' main trading partner.
Foreign trade in goods in 2016 – $26.1 billion
As much as 46.2% or $10.8 billion of Belarus' exports went to Russia. Russia accounted for 55.5% or $15.3 billion of Belarus' total imports.
Belarus exported:
milk and dairy products – $1,745 million
meat and meat byproducts – $678 million
trucks – $484 million
cars and vehicles designed for ten passengers or more – $282 million
tractors and tractor units – $217 million
Belarus imported:
crude oil – $3,958 million
natural gas – $2,547 million
ferrous metals and goods made of them – $1,198 million
cars – $591 million
oil products – $525 million
January 2017 saw a 40-50% increase in the trade between Belarus and Russia.
