According to the 2019 population census, Belarus' population amounted to 9,413.4 thousand people.

Ethnic composition:

Belarusians – 7,990.7 thousand people (84.9%);

Russians - 707 thousand people (7.5%);

Poles – 287.7 thousand people (3.1%);

Ukrainians – 159.7 thousand people (1.7%),

and other nationalities.

Mother tongues:

Belarusian – 61.2% of the population;

Russian – 38.1% of the population.
