Belarus population

As of 1 January 2019* Belarus was home to about 9,475,600 people, down by 16,200 people from early 2018.

As many as 93,388 kids were born in Belarus in 2018, down by 8,168 from 2017.

2015 – 9,480.9,

2016 – 9,498.4,

2017 – 9,504.7,

2018 – 9,491.8,

2019 – 9,475.6.

Number of residents in specific regions of the country (as of 1 January 2019):

Minsk – 1,992.8 thousand people,

Minsk Oblast – 1,428.6 thousand,

Gomel Oblast – 1,410.0 thousand,

Brest Oblast – 1,380.5 thousand,

Vitebsk Oblast – 1,171.5 thousand,

Mogilev Oblast – 1,052.9 thousand,

Grodno Oblast – 1,039.3 thousand.

Factors affecting the demographic situation in the country:

born – 94,388 people,

died – 119,931 people,

natural decline – 25,543 people;

migrants to Belarus – 24,601 people,

migrants from Belarus – 15,239 people,

migration gain – 9,362 people.
